OKZZ Teen Patti: Hand Rankings and Table Rules
Quick Summary
- Teen Patti is a three-card game from South Asia, close in spirit to three-card poker.
- Live casino versions usually pit Player A against Player B, or you against the dealer.
- Knowing the hand rankings is the one thing you really need before betting.
- Check the OKZZ lobby to see which Teen Patti tables are listed.
Teen Patti is the three-card game many families in Bangladesh and India play at festivals and weddings. Online, it shows up in two main forms: a live dealer table where you bet on one of two hands, and a table version where your hand faces the dealer. This page covers the hand rankings, the way each version works and the extras some tables add. We could not confirm which Teen Patti tables OKZZ carries, so look in the lobby first.
What beats what in Teen Patti?
Hands are ranked from strongest to weakest. Within the same rank, the higher cards win.
| Hand | What it is | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Trail or set | Three cards of the same rank | Three kings |
| Pure sequence | Three in a row, same suit | 5-6-7 of hearts |
| Sequence | Three in a row, mixed suits | 9-10-jack |
| Color | Three of the same suit, not in a row | 2-8-queen of spades |
| Pair | Two cards of the same rank | Two sevens and a four |
| High card | None of the above | Ace high |
How does the live dealer version work?
In the common live format, the dealer deals three cards to Player A and three to Player B. You do not hold either hand. You simply bet on which one will rank higher, and some tables let you back a tie or a side bet on the type of hand that appears.
There are no decisions after the deal, so it plays a lot like Dragon Tiger with more cards. Rounds are quick, which is worth remembering when you set a budget.
How is the table version different?
In the dealer-versus-player version, you place an ante, look at your three cards and then choose to play by adding a second stake, or fold and give up the ante. The dealer usually needs a minimum hand, such as queen high, to qualify. If the dealer does not qualify, the ante may be paid and the play bet returned.
Exact qualifying rules and bonus payouts differ by game, so read the help screen before you start.
Tip: a common rule of thumb is to play any hand of queen-six-four or better and fold weaker ones. It is a guide, not a promise.
What should I keep in mind before playing?
Side bets like Pair Plus pay on your hand type alone, even if you lose the main bet. They are fun but tend to cost more over time than the main game.
Keep a firm Taka limit, especially on fast live tables. For a similar South Asian favorite, read about Andar Bahar, and compare quick two-sided play with Dragon Tiger. The live casino guide covers the other tables.

Frequently asked
Is a sequence stronger than a color?
Yes, in the standard ranking a sequence beats a color. A pure sequence, where the cards are both in a row and the same suit, beats both. Some regional house rules swap orders, so check the table's help screen.
Is A-2-3 a sequence?
In most online versions, A-2-3 counts as a sequence, and many treat it as the second-highest sequence after A-K-Q. Rules can vary, which is another reason to open the game info before betting.
Can I play Teen Patti with friends on OKZZ?
We could not confirm a multiplayer or private-table feature on OKZZ. The casino versions described here are played against the house. Check the OKZZ lobby for the formats it actually lists.
Does Teen Patti involve bluffing online?
In the home game, bluffing and blind play are a big part of it. Casino versions remove most of that, because you bet against the dealer or on fixed hands, not against other players' stakes.
Is Teen Patti a game of skill?
The table version includes a play-or-fold choice, so decisions matter a little. The live A-versus-B version has no decisions after betting. In both, chance decides the cards and the house keeps an edge.
